The piper playing comrades into action conjures up an image of war throughout the ages.
We are putting a piper on the roof of our headquarters on Remembrance Day as a mark of respect to all those who fought for their country in the two World Wars, the Falklands War, the Gulf War as well as conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Ronan Gilchrist of the Dunfermline pipe band will pipe on the roof of our landmark headquarters, the Jenners Depository building on Balgreen Road, Edinburgh on Thursday 11th November at 11 am in remembrance of all those who gave their lives so that we can live ours the way we do.
Said the manager of Edinburgh Self Storage, “The wars cannot be forgotten or their memory overshadowed by what is happening in the world today.
“What is being planned is safe and respectful and will be done in the spirit of bringing the community together at a time when many may have lost a sense of what this means because of the pandemic.
“Ronan is giving his time freely and we owe him a huge debt of gratitude for this and I hope that his appearing on the top of our beautiful building will raise awareness of all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
“We also hope to film it, weather permitting, and release the footage across our social media so that as many people as possible can watch it and re-watch it and share it. “
