Edinburgh Self Storage is immensely proud to be a friend of Maggie’s Centre, Edinburgh, through its association with CrimboTrees and so we wanted to tell you about Cancer Support Scotland Day on November 29th. It asks that you wear a touch of tartan to remember people affected by cancer, and to carry out one small act of kindness to show you care.
The first Maggie’s opened in Edinburgh in 1996, and it now has a network of centres across the UK and some abroad. Founder Maggie Keswick Jencks used her own experience of having cancer to create a new type of cancer care.
Cancer Support Scotland is another Scottish cancer charity. Originally it was called Tak Tent’, old Scot’s for Take Care’, hence the theme: Take Care, wear Tartan for a day.
What do Maggie’s offer?
Maggie’s offers the best possible support free to anyone with cancer and their families who walk through their doors. You’ll find their centres alongside NHS hospitals and we can also support you online.
They help people take back control when cancer turns life upside down, with professional support for anything from treatment side effects to money worries.
All the support you get from Maggie’s is free and you don’t need an appointment or referral.
